Self expression is something dear to me, and I realized sometime during 2019-2020 that modern social media was not going to let me express that as much as I wanted. When I discovered Neocities (and really, the indie web community), it was like striking gold. murohe*, as well as all of my past web projects, are parts of me scattered across the internet, like throwing a bottle with a message inside into the ocean. Hell, even my constant neglect of my websites counts as self-expression in a way (I get into things too fast and leave them for some time, I could work on that.) Ultimately, this website, this thing I've spent time and effort on, is not just mine; it's a part of me.
